Virginia A. Gibson
Ginny Gibson practice is focused on internal investigations, white collar defense, and civil litigation. She is a trial lawyer who was a federal prosecutor for over 20 years, serving as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Civil Chief both in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of Delaware, where she oversaw all government civil and criminal fraud and environmental prosecution.
At Hogan Lovells, Ginny has defended individuals and organizations against federal and state investigations and has counseled organizations in internal compliance reviews to help them avoid government action. Her practice keeps Ginny at the forefront of government investigations, False Claims Act, and qui tam enforcement. Her government services included health care and environmental crimes task forces, the Deputy Attorney General’s Health Care Fraud Working Group, and the Assistant Attorney General’s Mortgage Fraud Task Force. Ginny was appointed by the Chief Judge of the federal district court in Delaware as a Special Master for civil disputes in complex commercial and IP litigation, from 2011 to 2014.
Ginny was a litigator in another Philadelphia law firm before her government service and has served as a Board Member and President of the Support Center for Child Advocates. She also taught healthcare fraud as an adjunct professor at Rutgers, Temple, and Widener Law Schools.
