Sebastian Lach is a partner in Hogan Lovells' Munich office. He is a member of the Litigation & Arbitration practice and advises and represents international and German clients (thereof several Fortune 500 and DAX 30 companies) with regard to product liability, product safety and compliance issues, as well as internal investigations.
Sebastian's industry expertise comprises clients from the electronics, IT, automotive, consumer goods, life sciences, foods and nutrition and chemicals industry. He has conducted various internal investigations (including the defense against criminal law charges in various countries) and international product recalls for clients in these industries.
Beyond, Sebastian has special experience in the defense, coordination and implementation of international mass tort product liability cases ("'praised' for his 'innovative thinking' and 'commercial acumen'", "'greatly experienced' in product recalls, strategic issues and the defense of international mass tort product liability cases.", Who's Who Legal Germany, 2013).
He represents clients on all court levels, including submissions to the German Supreme Court and references to the European Court of Justice. Moreover, he provides advice on strategic and scientific issues and gives international on-site trial assistance (witness and expert support). Further focus of his work lies in the advice of German and international clients as to the implementation of European legal requirements. During his career, he has represented clients in more than 100 court hearings.
