Isabel Costa Carvalho

Isabel is a partner and member of the Hogan Lovells Brazil Group, which operates in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, together with other lawyers across the globe, especially in New York, Washington, D.C., London, Madrid, Miami, Mexico City, and Caracas.
She began her career in London as an intern, spending six years working for a leading international law firm before moving to Brazil to help open that firm's São Paulo office. Isabel has more than 20 years of international capital markets, corporate, and finance experience, with experience in various industries in Brazil. She has also worked on capital markets transactions across Latin America, and on banking and regulatory work involving Africa and Asia.
Her experience includes complex international capital markets and corporate transactions, finance deals, and general corporate governance advice including U.S. regulatory issues (FCPA), as well as cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
Isabel is a member of the Brazilian Association of Bovespa Listed Companies (Abrasca).
She is often invited to be a speaker on US securities regulations and Corporate Governance issues, which includes a recent presentation to the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) on the Jobs Act and Banco do Brasil`s Pension Fund (Previ) on FCPA and the New Brazilian Anticorruption Law.
