Nicholas G. Stavlas
Nick Stavlas focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, federal and state False Claims Act litigation, government agency investigations, and complex litigation primarily in the health care field. Nick also regularly counsels clients on electronic discovery in civil and criminal matters.
In his white collar and investigations practice, Nick has represented pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, medical device companies, clinical laboratories, and other providers of health care in matters arising under the Medicare and Medicaid Anti-Kickback Statute, the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, and the False Claims Act. Nick has also represented corporate clients in complex civil and commercial litigation, including corporate securities class actions, misappropriation of trade secrets, and commercial real estate disputes.
With respect to electronic discovery, Nick counsels clients on proactive electronic discovery planning, including implementing or updating policies and procedures involving records retention, cataloguing, and electronic search capabilities. Nick also works with clients to develop and execute document preservation, collection, review and production strategies in complex civil litigation, government regulatory actions and investigations, including negotiating scope of discovery with government lawyers and civil litigants with respect to server data, archives, and other sources of electronic records.
